Tips and Troubleshooting
To insure the e-Mersion Custom Articulate ’09 Players are working correctly complete the following steps:
Step 1 – Install the e-Mersion Custom Articulate ‘09 Player
Before you purchase and install the e-Mersion Custom Articulate ‘09 player check to see whether your computer meets the minimum requirements:
- You must have a valid Articulate Presenter ’09 V6.2.907.1413 Pro license
Note: If you do not have the latest version of Articulate Presenter ’09 then you will need to download and install the latest version.
To install the e-Mersion Custom Articulate ’09 player complete the following steps:
1. Purchase and download the player of your choice to your local computer hard drive.The install file has an extension of .artpkg.
2. Locate the .artpkg install file and double click to install the file.
3. A prompt will appear asking if you want to install the file. Click Yes.
The .artpkg file will automatically install to the appropriate directory.
4. A success prompt will appear with the following message, “The package was installed successfully”. Click OK to complete the install process.
Note: When you open Articulate ’09 the e-Mersion Custom Articulate ’09 player will appear as an option in the Publish menu. The new player will be located as an option in the Player templates drop-down menu.
Step 2 - Adjust the slide properties menu to slide only view
To insure the custom players are working correctly you may need to adjust the Slide Properties menu to the slide only view within Articulate ‘09. To adjust the Slide Properties menu complete the following steps :
1. Click Articulate from the MS PowerPoint 2007 ribbon menu and select the Slide Properties button.
The Slide Properties window will open.
Note: If the Change View menu is blank then you do not need to make any changes in the Slide Properties menu. Click OK to exit this menu.
2. In the Change View column single click to adjust the view mode.
A drop-down arrow will appear
3.Single click on the drop-down arrow and select No sidebar.
4. Repeat these steps 2 and 3 for each of the slides.
5. Click OK after you are finished.
Step 3 – Adjust the settings in the Player Template menu
By default the Articulate ‘09 Player template settings should automatically detect the custom player you install. However, you should check to see if the Articulate ‘09 player template settings are setup correctly. Complete the following steps to adjust the Artiulcate ‘09 player template settings:
1. Click Articulate from the MS PowerPoint 2007 ribbon menu and select the Player Templates button.
The Player Templates window appears.
2. Click Layout from the tabs on the left and select No sidebar view.
The Layout menu appears.
Note: all the other radio buttons in the View Modes section should be de-selected.
3. Click Navigation from the tabs on the left and de-select all of the radio buttons in Navigation Tabs section.
Step 4 - Export your presentation
To export a presentation with the e-Mersion Custom Articulate ‘09 player complete the following steps :
Before you export your presentation, insure that all of the player settings have been modified correctly (refer to steps 2-3)
1. Click Articulate from the MS PowerPoint 2007 ribbon menu and select the Publish button.
2. Select your desired output from the tabs on the left.
3. From the Properties menu locate the Player Template field and select the drop-down arrow.
4. Pick the player you would like selected. Click Publish.
The custom player will appear as a player interface with your exported project files.

1. Can I add my logo and branding to the e-Mersion Custom Articulate ’09 player?
Answer: The e-Mersion custom branding service is available through the e-Mersion enterprise license plan. Contact e-Mersion for details.
2. How many computers can I install the e-Mersion Custom Articulate ’09 players on?
Answer: The single user license is limited to two computer workstations. If you need to install the e-Mersion Custom Articulate ’09 Player on more than two computers then you will need to purchase the enterprise license. Contact e-Mersion for details.
3. Does the e-Mersion Custom Articulate ’09 Player support all of Articulate ’09 product line (e.g., Presenter, Engage, and Quizmaker)
Answer: The e-Mersion Custom Articulate ’09 Player is only supported using the Articulate Presenter ’09 V6.2.907.1413 Pro license.
To apply the e-Mersion Custom Articulate ’09 player to an Engage or Quizmaker interaction you will first need to import the final version into Articulate Presenter ’09. Then follow steps for publishing your presentation (refer to Tips and Troubleshooting: step four)
4. Is the e-Mersion Custom Articulate ’09 Player SCORM Compliant?
Answer: Yes, the e-Mersion Custom Articulate ’09 player is SCORM compliant. You will just following the standard SCORM exporting procedures (refer to Tips and Troubleshooting: step four)
